Plentiful clean drinking water now available to school children in Qinghai Province
The school is called Middle School of Caijiapu Village, located in Huzhu County, two hours drive from Xining, the capital city of Qinghai province. There are 452 students in the school, located in what is one of the most remote areas of China and now for the very first time they have daily access to clean safe drinking water, thanks to LIFESAVER technology and our partners in China, Faithpower.
As Faithpower report "children in the school used to collect water all the way down the hill and store it in a unhygienic cellar for later drinking".
Now the school children have unlimited access to clean water whenever they need it, throughout the school day due to an installation of a LIFESAVER C2. The LIFESAVER C2 unit has the ability to provide up to 2,000,000 litres of water. For the 452 children in this school, with each child drinking 2 litres of water a day, the C2 will provide them with clean water for 6 years continuously before replacement cartridges would be required.
More schools to gain easy access to clean safe drinking water
Our partners on the ground, Faithpower plan to install more C2's throughout the Qinghai province and more fundamentally throughout schools in China as the success of this project demonstrates just how simple, effective and reliable the C2 system is. Perfect for remote locations, where conventional piping and infrastructure just doesn't work and where small community groups need a plentiful supply of drinkable water, the C2 continues to demonstrate just how ideal a solution the system is in changing lives.
