This weekend was Mothers Day, and a day spent celebrating being a mother to my beautiful little boy. The day was spent celebrating how we, as mothers, have a difficult job to do of nurturing our children, that we grew inside us and how we manage to be totally selfless in sharing everything we have to make them a better person. Mothers are also stepmothers, surrogate mothers and mothers who gave another child a life through adoption or fostering. But what about mothers that have to watch their children get sick?
The thought of bringing a life into this world, and not being able to feed them clean water, is shocking. A baby is so precious and vulnerable, and clean sterile water is a necessity that should never be a luxury. Unfortunately, we in the modern world take this for granted. But as a mother, how could you begin to feed your newborn water you know is full of disease such as Cholera, Typhoid or E-Coli? But they are screaming for nourishment, so that decision must be heart breaking.
LIFESAVER is driving forward the campaign to end water poverty around the globe. The LIFESAVER jerrycan is the World’s first and only jerrycan to remove all bacteria, viruses, cysts, parasites, fungi and all other microbiological waterborne pathogens without the aid of any foul tasting chemicals like iodine or chlorine or the need for any power, UV light or the need to wait for the water to drip through slowly.
Mothers who need to mix milk powder to feed their babies, with disease infested water, need not anymore. They can mix the powder with clean, sterile water and feed their children and keep them safe with the help of LIFESAVER.
Did you have a good mothers day? Can you help us ensure no mother ever has to make these decisions? A simple donation of £10 can go towards the LIFESAVER fund of ending water poverty globally. As mothers we need to unite, and this is how we can save our children around the world.
