In early June, Greer from LIFESAVER’s marketing department flew up to Inverness to visit Gordonstoun School. The reason for this trip was to demo the LIFESAVER bottle to a group of students and teachers who were going to a remote region of Thailand to build water tanks for a large village. Greer demonstrated the LIFESAVER bottle and answered various questions from both the teachers and the students. ..

An insight to filming in Borneo, Malaysia with the LIFESAVER bottle
“I’ve filmed in many parts of the world and one of the problems of taking film crews into remote locations is access to clean drinking water… in the past we would take bottled water with us or if that wasn’t possible we'd use water sterilisation tablets.Filming in Borneo was no different; apart from we did have an alternative - the LIFESAVER Bottle. However, none of the crew had every tried the product. All of us were experienced in foreign filming where we would never dream of drinking the local water. That simply went against all our natural instincts.
Michael Pritchard, the inventor & founder of LIFESAVER, travelling with us would immediately challenge us to drink the water as he was doing regularly and without any side-effects. Watching him playfully dip the bottle into the direst water you could think of; he would fill, pump it a couple of times before fresh clean water would pour out… Fine we all thought he’s the inventor he’s probably immune to all this dirty water… but then it was our turn. You can’t really travel half-way across the globe to make a film about LIFESAVER and not try it for ourselves. What was all our fuss about? Nothing apart from getting over the fact you’re about to drink some polluted and unappetising water. Stationary in a river we all took turns using the bottle; in the brownest, muddiest, filthiest water with unidentified objects floating in it. You fill the bottle. You add pressure to it by pumping the bottle this forces the water through the filters and then you simply drink it… We all drank from the river…we all looked at each other incredulously, we all were fine and carried on being fine the whole trip. Once you see LIFESAVER in action it’s hard not to be evangelical about it. It’s a brilliant invention. A very simple and easy way to provide fresh clean drinking water anywhere”Moray LondonTV Director..
